Bushfire Safety
Bushfires are a serious reality in rural locations. We all need to be informed and prepared.
*Note this document is not a South Australian Country Fire Service publication. It was written by landholders who live in the Adelaide Hills with many years of experience as volunteer fire-fighters. They have endeavoured to make the checklist both simple and comprehensive. They offer it for our own private use without any liability for omissions or mistakes.
For all fires, including bushfires and housefires emergencies call Triple Zero (000) and ask for 'fire'.
Phone the Country Fire Service (CFS) Bushfire Information Hotline on 1800 362 361 or TTY (teletypewriter or textphone) on 13 16 77 for information on:
-
fire danger ratings
-

The responsibility for fire mitigation on your property is yours. You are ultimately responsible for the survival of yourself and your family.
